COACHING/TEACHING
Ryan began teaching as a graduate student, working as an instructor at UC San Diego, spending two years leading his own undergraduate classes of Introduction to Public Speaking and Introduction to Acting. Since receiving his MFA and returning to NYC, Ryan has worked consistently as a coach and educator teaching public speaking and acting on a private and group basis. His clients and students are as diverse as New York City itself, ranging from director-level managers at major software companies to prisoners at Rikers Island, from 4th graders in outer Brooklyn to elite high school students in Manhattan.
PUBLIC SPEAKING/CORPORATE COACH
Ryan spent his undergraduate years at Harvard, earning a bachelor's degree in English and American Literature, and through his work on countless class essays fell in love with the art of persuasive argument. Ryan is well versed in all the stages of speech preparation: conception, construction, rehearsal, and presentation. As a performer himself, Ryan is especially attuned to the challenges of stage fright, and has had great success working with clients to manage their nerves and effectively and naturally present in even the most high pressure situations.
AUDITION PREP/ACTING COACH
As an acting teacher and audition coach Ryan works with actors of all ages and levels for stage, TV and film. He has a particular affinity for Shakespeare.
